Yoshitoshi's death poem

holding back the night
with its increasing brilliance
the summer moon
-- Yoshitoshi's death poem

This is the death poem of a Japanese Wood Cut artist that I found today. Here is his wiki. His work is incredible! Also check out this page on his darker work.

You are my great elephant.

But if you do not find an intelligent companion, a wise and well-behaved person going the same way as yourself, then go on your way alone, like a king abandoning a conquered kingdom, or like a great elephant in the deep forest. - Buddha..

Invisible Monsters Quote 01

Ok, so I am finally reading again. Leave it to Chuck Palahniuk. His work always amazes me. If you haven't already please please read Survivor. I still contest that it's the best book I have ever read. You will enjoy it, guaranteed or your money back. Anyways, here is the first of, I'm sure, many quotes from Invisible Monsters that stir my pot.

"When you understand," Brandy says, "that what your telling is just a story. It isn't happening anymore. When you realize the story you are telling is just words, when you can just crumble it up and throw your past in the trashcan," Brandy says, "then we'll figure out who you're going to be."
